Does it count special characters?
Yes. The 'Characters' count includes all characters (letters, numbers, spaces, punctuation). 'Characters (no spaces)' excludes whitespace.
How are sentences counted?
Sentences are counted by detecting sentence-ending punctuation (periods, exclamation marks, question marks). If no punctuation is found but words exist, it counts as 1 sentence.
